Award-winning electronic music duo Electric Fields return to Garrmalang Festival, this time joining the Territory’s own Darwin Symphony Orchestra (DSO) with a debut collaboration that will see the original music of Electric Fields’ Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross amplified by the full might of DSO.

Electric Fields music, described as ‘emotionally moving and breathtaking’, combines pop, soul and electronica with intimate storytelling. Zaachariaha's extraordinary soaring vocals often include the traditional languages of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people as Z channels a performance unlike any other.

Under the baton of Resident Conductor Stephen Pevely, DSO will perform moving song cycles of Electric Fields’ work arranged for the orchestra by Alex Turley, with supporting vocals from Belle Bangard, Alyson Joyce, and the Antara Singers.

Electric Fields have lit it up at massive shows across Australia and internationally, including Splendour in the Grass, Golden Plains, VIVID, Groovin the Moo and the Spotify Front Left showcase. They’ve notched six National Live Music Awards (including two wins for Fielding for Best Voice and Best Live Act) and were finalists for the ARIA Award for Best Live Act. Last year saw Electric Fields perform ‘We the People’, the official theme song of the 2023 Sydney World Pride to a crowd of 20,000 people at the Opening Concert at the Domain in Sydney, and this year the duo will represent Australia at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden, with their soulful dance anthem ‘One Milkali (One Blood)’.

This special Garrmalang Festival collaboration is sure to get audiences on their feet!

A breathtaking testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit
