Dance and orchestra combine to define place in a compelling new performance.
Don’t miss this stunning new collaboration with choreographer Gary Lang set to a suite of beautiful symphonic music. A proud Larrakia man, Gary Lang creates distinctive and evocative contemporary dance grounded in the traditions of Indigenous Australia, featuring diverse local dancers that reflect the rich cultural identity of Darwin.
After the recent success of his collaboration “Milky Way” with West Australian Ballet and soprano Deborah Cheetham, this new work on stage with Darwin Symphony Orchestra will be a spectacle not to be missed.
Where I Roam also features Respighi’s lyrical Pines of Rome, the Italian composer’s tribute to his country’s capital. Through portraits of pine trees around the city, he recalls the glory of ancient Rome and the beauty of contemporary life.
