Young Artist Program Try Out Day

Are you a musician in year 5 - 12 keen to develop your skills? Come along to our Try Out Day for an opportunity to experience our Young Artists Program!

 

Bring your instrument for this free workshop session, held on the Playhouse stage at Darwin Entertainment Centre with current Young Artists, DSO Artistic Director/Chief Conductor Jon Tooby, and Program Coordinators Stephanie Arnold and Nick Yates.

Monday 21 October, 4:15PM

Playhouse, Darwin Entertainment Centre

4:15pm - 5:45pm: YAP Try Out Session
5:45pm - 6:15pm: break with light snacks
6:15pm - 6:45pm: Watch DSO rehearse (optional)

 

Registrations are essential. To register for the Try Out Day, email Education and Outreach Coordinator Stephanie Arnold at stephanie.arnold@cdu.edu.au including your name, instrument, and school year.

 

Application intake for 2025 now open

Our Young Artists Program enables aspiring musicians to hone their skills with weekly classes, performances, and masterclasses.

Each year, selected students will have access to professional music educators and world-class visiting artists through a series of workshops.

2025 Young Artists Sessions

Schedule: Mondays 3:45pm - 5:15pm during school term at CDU Casuarina Campus
Cost: $160 Dollars per term | Sports Voucher Eligible!
Entry to the program is by audition

How to Apply

To apply for the Young Artists 2025 Program,

  1. Click on the Apply Now button below and complete the application form
  2. Send us a video audition of no more than 5 minutes of you playing a piece of your choice. Videos should be sent to dso@cdu.edu.au

Applicants will be notified of the outcome within one week. Once you been notified of a successful application, please click on the Pay Now button and complete your payment.
